Local Flavor That Walks the Walk.
Camper didn’t just want retail spaces—they wanted personality for two distinct Canadian locations. Each store needed to feel like a part of the city it lived in, while still staying true to the brand’s quirky, creative identity. So, Kubik brought that vision to life in Edmonton and Montreal with immersive retail environments full of color, character, and community.
Setting the Objectives – Our mission was clear:
- Deliver a globally consistent brand experience, with design that speaks to each city’s soul
- Create custom fixtures that double as functional sculpture—both eye-catching and purposeful
- Work fast. Really fast. These full interior buildouts were inside live shopping areas, and timelines were tight
Our Design & Build Approach.
Fixtures That Tell Stories
In the Montreal store, more than 250 colorful acrylic displays lined the walls—each one carefully lit to showcase Camper’s unique products like artwork. Across the floor, shoe-shaped couches and vacuum-formed resin lamps created a playful visual rhythm—inviting guests to sit, stay, and smile.
Sculptural Lighting with Purpose
Suspended above key zones in the Edmonton store, layered plywood chandeliers became a signature element. Warm, textural, and sculptural, they grounded each store with a sense of intimacy and craftsmanship.
From Demo to Done in Four Weeks
Every element of the store came together through Kubik’s full-scope turnkey service: interior demolition, drywall, electrical and plumbing, storefront construction, and custom fixture fabrication. All completed in just four weeks per location. High-pressure timelines, met with precision.
A Local Lens
While the design stayed consistent with global brand standards, each store was dialed in to reflect its neighborhood. Accent palettes nodded to local landmarks, and display placements subtly echoed the city skylines—ensuring each location felt right at home.
Retail with Heart
These stores weren’t just about shoes—they were about human moments. Comfortable seating sparked conversation. Playful materials invited interaction. In every detail, Kubik designed not just for sales, but for connection. These were retail spaces that made people want to stay a little longer.
