Exhibits to Entertain and Explore

With a mission of growing minds through play and discovery and incorporating core educational subjects, The DoSeum strives to instill a life-long love of learning in all those who enter the museum. The 65,000 square foot hands-on children’s museum with both indoor and outdoor exhibits, designed to feel like a park in a museum, is comprised of a series of three, two-story exhibit halls with an additional 39,000 square feet of outdoor exhibit yards.

All exhibits include interactive, AV hardware systems, software, and exhibit lighting fixtures. The Sensation Studio, where kids can explore the physics of light and sound; Explore, which teaches about communities and the environment; Little Town, a role-play townscape for children as young as six months; Spy Academy, where children use mathematics to become spy masters; Imagine it! which encourages kids to use their imagination and creative-thinking; and the Big Outdoors, an interactive outdoor space zoned by age, activity, and noise level.

Mind Blowing Interactives

kubik maltbie completed the Innovation Station and Explore galleries and the entry; responsible for detailing, fabrication, installation, audiovisual, media support, and lighting as well as audio hardware and systems integration for each. In this highly interactive forward institution, kubik maltbie completed a total of 16 interactive exhibits including a primary museum feature; the Big Wind tunnel that allows children to discover aerodynamics and airlift with objects of various size, weight, and composition. Developing the exhibit necessitated numerous prototypes to determine the most appropriate fan strengths to create the desired wind effects.
