One of the things that sets kubik apart is our fearless commitment to do what others may find difficult. The IQOS exhibit for NACS was one of the most challenging builds the kubik team has experienced in some time; and for a client in the process of trying to transform their business. The compound curved forms, rich finishing and tricky installation made this highly technical project a centerpiece of the NACS trade show floor.
From the start, there was nothing traditional about this trade show exhibit. It was the product of a Swiss/American brand hiring a NYC-based project manager, who contracted a graphic design and software developer in Dubai. Creative was based in Italy, working with a design manager in Paris via a procurement team in the US. Finally, the whole thing was design engineered and fabricated by the kubik Canadian team before we deployed it at a show in Atlanta. It really shows how small this world has become and how global collaborations like this can work.
IQOS is a premium product and a major step towards PMI’s vision of a smoke-free future. The creative team wanted to feature the sleek industrial design of the product itself, which became the inspiration for the design of the trade show booth. This provided natural entry and egress points that could be easily managed to maintain regulatory control of guests. Composite materials and high-end paint finishes helped to bring the complex structure to life while minimizing seams and maximizing ease of installation.
