The new design concept that kubik developed for the 2009 AutoRAI Amsterdam Motor Show was selected as one of the finalists for the 2009 Dutch Design Awards (DDA). kubik‘s design has been chosen, from 700+ projects, by committee members comprised of leading experts in the design field. The DDA is an internationally recognized professional design competition, consisting of a total of 20 awards in the main categories of Communication, Product and Spatial. kubik is competing with 3 finalists to win an award in the Best Commercial Interior category. An international jury will announce the winners to the design world during a festive award show on October 17th 2009 as part of the famous Dutch Design Week festival.
Dutch design, has for many years now, maintained a leading position among the very best designs in the world which reflects in the quality level of the work competing for the annual Dutch Design Awards. The creative team of kubik Amsterdam is very proud to be nominated in this prestigious competition. A clear recognition of the truly new approach for this international motor show; kubik designed six different car experience worlds: Family & Travel, Cabrio, Luxury & Sport, Adventure, City & Compact and Green Innovations.
It is the first time that an overall design approach for a tradeshow is nominated for the Dutch Design Awards. The annual event comprises of the competition, the international traveling exhibition and the Dutch Design Yearbook 2009. These activities ensure that kubik‘s environmental design will become a part of this unique platform for the presentation and recognition of the best in Dutch design.
