Traveling Pop-Up

An epic, cross-country tour celebrating 10 years of Samsung Galaxy and the new S10 phone, included an immersive pop-up experience to engage Samsung enthusiasts across the US. The activation popped-up simultaneously at SXSW in Austin, Times Square in New York City, Hollywood and Vine in LA, and Bayside Shopping Mall in Miami.

kubik execute a fast-paced 3 ½ week build and install of the inter-connected modular pod, multi-zone experience; designed to deconstruct into individual portable activation centers.

The first four cities successfully launched within the tight schedule with only 2 weeks to build and 5 days install across the diverse, high-profile locations.

The exhibit went on to travel across the US popping-up in premier high-traffic locations promoting the 5G experience and engaging and delighting audiences for tour stops in Washington, Chicago, Indianapolis and San Francisco!

The entire ecosystem showcased unique inter-connected pods each positioned to Samsung’s 4 key target communities — creators, gamers, entrepreneurs and health and fitness.

With a flexible footprint, the connected pods could be broken into individualized venues that each would uniquely focus on a different community and product.

The fabrication solution involved creating a production system to produce the numerous multi-pods required in the ambitious design. The space was engineered to create a flexible and scalable venue that would accommodate various footprints, enabling Samsung to break it apart and engage any one of their unique communities in locations most relevant to their target.

Meanwhile, the account team managed the tricky logistics, permits, zoning and scheduling installations in diversely challenging locations.

Environmental design elements brought the “connected” story to life utilizing light, décor, content and messaging to promote products, features and 5G.
