Launching Walmart Blue Labs at Collision.
What does the future of retail look like? How can retailers and consumers reshape their impact on the environment? And how can everyday shopping become simpler, smarter, and more meaningful? Walmart tackled these big questions head-on at the Collision Conference by launching Blue Labs—its innovative think-tank dedicated to transforming the future of retail.
Blue Labs is on a mission to incubate radical innovations that redefine how, why, and where people shop, aiming to create experiences that improve customers’ lives. To connect with the brightest minds and forward-thinking partners, Walmart chose Collision as the ideal launchpad.
Kubik brought this vision to life, designing an activation that literally spilled out of the iconic “big box.” Within an 18-square-meter immersive space, visitors engaged with Walmart’s future challenges—visualizing environmental concerns, grappling with the rising cost of living, and exploring opportunities to be part of meaningful solutions.
Guests interacted through a range of innovative touchpoints—from scanning QR codes to immersive retro ViewMaster presentations and live on-site strategy sessions with subject matter experts. This multi-layered engagement sparked thoughtful conversations and inspired involvement.
The Results.
The results were impressive: over 1,100 attendees signed up to learn about Blue Labs’ Innovation Challenges and career opportunities. The Media Preview Event, featuring Lee Jeyes, Head of Innovation at Walmart Canada, drew 40+ key industry insiders, while Walmart’s speaking engagements reached over 620 attendees. Across social media, the campaign generated over 60,000 impressions, amplifying Walmart Blue Labs’ impact well beyond the event floor.
This activation is a powerful example of how Kubik crafts experiential environments that drive engagement, spark innovation, and elevate brand stories—making complex ideas accessible and actionable in a dynamic trade show setting.
