Recently, I celebrated my 13th anniversary at Kubik. I wanted to share why it’s just the start of my career here. Early in my career, I was looking for a place where I could build something that was lasting, and I found the perfect place. Thank you to everyone who has made these years memorable and rewarding. And a special thank you to Elliot Kohn who “took a chance” on me and gave me this opportunity.
Want to know why and why I invite others to join us as clients, collaborators, or team members? Anyone can build you a trade show booth, design a user conference, or fabricate an experience center. The real question is: who can you trust? At Kubik, we see that decision as strategic, not transactional.
Brands invest heavily in experiences designed to attract customers, influence decisions and strengthen their reputation. Yet partner selection is too often reduced to one procurement question: who has the lowest price?
Based on more than 20 years in this industry, I believe that is the wrong question. The right partner amplifies your strategy and becomes an extension of your internal team before a single wall is built.
At Kubik, we believe design is not decoration. It is a business strategy made visible. A great exhibit should create a reason to stop, engage, remember, and start or continue a meaningful business conversation. That starts with better questions.
To borrow from one of my favorite TV shows and a famous poet: be curious. We want to know not simply what you sell, but what someone should understand about your value after spending a few minutes with your brand. To quote a client, we don’t just want product on pedestals.
That is why Kubik begins with objectives, audience and customer journey, not just dimensions of space. The best designs do more than occupy space. They create opportunity. An exhibit is experienced on the show floor, but it is shaped long before the doors open by the team behind it.
Kubik’s designers, strategists, project managers, producers, fabricators, installers and leaders all influence the result. Their experience affects the questions we ask, the risks we identify, the options we recommend and the decisions we help clients make.
Your program needs a partner who can manage complexity.
Trade show programs rarely succeed because one decision goes perfectly. They succeed because the right team knows how to balance strategy, budget, creative ambition, production realities, and last-minute change without losing sight of the business objective.
That is why Kubik brings budget, materials, reuse, shipping, labor, storage and future flexibility into the conversation early. Custom builds, modular systems, rentals, and hybrid solutions are not just production choices. They are business decisions that affect cost, impact, and long-term value.
Strong leadership makes that possible. It creates accountability, encourages teams to raise concerns early and keeps everyone focused when a timeline shifts, a budget needs protection, a design needs to be rethought, or something unexpected happens on the show floor. The right partner does not just react to complexity. They help you manage it before it becomes a problem.
“Global” should mean more than a map on a PowerPoint slide.
For global programs, “yes, we can do that” is not enough. A brand experience may need to feel consistent from Las Vegas to Amsterdam to Singapore, but the realities behind that experience are rarely the same. Local regulations, venue rules, labor models, shipping requirements, storage options, cultural expectations and installation practices can all change from market to market. That is where the right partner matters.
Kubik’s global perspective is not built on dots on a map. It is built on systems, relationships and people who know how to translate a brand strategy into consistent execution wherever the program goes.
One of my favorite Kubik stories goes back more than 30 years, when a client needed support in Europe and could not find a partner they trusted locally. They asked if Kubik would be willing to help. We said yes. Two people got on a plane to Amsterdam, and that decision became the beginning of our EMEA presence.
I love that story because it says a lot about Kubik. We did not expand because it looked good in a capabilities deck. We expanded because a client needed us to show up.
That flexibility still matters today. Global execution is not about pretending every market is the same. It is about having the experience, relationships and commitment to keep the brand experience consistent while adapting to the realities on the ground.
Partnership is more than saying yes.
I know, I know. I just said Kubik said yes when a client needed support in Europe. But real partnership is more than saying yes. Everyone in our space calls themselves a partner. A true partner challenges, advises and takes ownership.
Kubik teams ask uncomfortable questions, bring ideas you did not ask for and tell you when something will not work. We connect event investment to business outcomes and treat every program as a unique challenge, not another widget moving through production.
And when something goes sideways, Kubik does not start with, “Whose fault is this?” We start with, “How do we fix it?” And not how can we change order you to death.
We also know when to say we are not the right partner and will help you find the path that will best suit you!
That distinction is why the next question matters.
Why Kubik?
After 13 years, I have learned that Kubik’s value shows up most clearly when the work gets complicated. It shows when timelines shift, budgets tighten; designs need to be rethought, shipments are delayed, or venues throw curveballs.
That is why I am a champion for the team at Kubik. Not because everything is easy. It is never in this business. But because I have watched our team stay accountable, communicate honestly and keep moving toward the right answer under pressure.
Strategy, creativity, production expertise, operational discipline, construction knowledge and leadership all matter. What makes them work is the culture behind them: people who listen carefully, solve problems directly and treat every program like it matters. And most importantly, leadership at Kubik will back it up.
Every brand experience represents someone’s investment, reputation, and opportunity to connect with an audience. That deserves more than a vendor. It deserves a partner that understands the stakes.
Your customers do not know who designed, fabricated, shipped, or installed the experience. They do not see the late nights, the budget decisions, the production calls, or the problems solved behind the scenes. They see your brand.
If the experience is confusing, late, inconsistent, over budget, or poorly executed, that impression belongs to you. That is why choosing an exhibit partner is not simply vendor selection. It is a strategic business decision.
The next time you evaluate exhibit partners, don’t only ask, “Who can build our booth?” Ask who will think with you, challenge you, protect your investment, take ownership when plans change and help turn event spend into meaningful brand experience.
That is the kind of partner we strive to be. That is the place that our founders built over the years.
And that is why Kubik is my home.
