When Shell embarked on its Headquarters redevelopment in The Hague, it wanted more than a modern office—it aimed to create a living heritage experience within its historic C30 campus. Kubik partnered with MCW to craft a dedicated exhibition where employees and visitors alike would walk through the company’s legacy—instilling pride, purpose, and curiosity in every step.
Experience & Design Contribution.
Nestled just off the lobby in a private wing serving 700–900 daily passersby, our curated Heritage Experience welcomed 40–50 engaged visitors each day. The space unfolded across three zones:
- Timeline Wall
A sweeping visual journey through Shell’s past, featuring archival photos, key artifacts, and engaging video stories. - Thematic Islands
Four immersive stations—each representing a defining era in Shell’s history—blended objects, artwork, lighting, and media to bring each chapter to life. - Wall of Fame
A luminous tribute to Shell luminaries, this backlit installation highlighted prominent figures whose contributions shaped the company.
Supporting features included biophilic green walls that softened the space, inviting guests to pause, reflect, and linger.
Kubik’s role extended beyond curation: we handled fabrication, AV integration, and interactive components, ensuring each photo, film clip, and artifact was beautifully presented and technically seamless.
Immersive Journey.
Visitors would enter the experience through a dedicated entrance, guided into the Timeline Wall where stories and dates unfolded visually. Moving through the four thematic islands, they explored pivotal moments—from exploration breakthroughs to energy transitions. The journey culminated at the Wall of Fame—a glowing reminder of Shell’s human legacy. The calm greenery and quiet design encouraged moments of reflection before returning to bustling office life.
