To mark the second feature in our revamped Kubik Storytellers Series, we’re excited to highlight one of our amazing trade show Project Managers, Kate Summers, who joined the team in our Maryland office three and a half years ago. Bringing a background in education alongside a deep-rooted fascination with global architecture, Kate has always had an eye for how design and structure come together. What she appreciates most about Kubik is the environment where inspiration thrives through every single phase of a project—actively shared across every department along the way. It’s that blend of curiosity and teamwork that we find at Kubik in which keeps our projects inspired from start to finish.
Can you tell us a bit more about yourself?
Kate: I am a military spouse and mother of four, two humans and two animals. I’ve been able to live in Asia, Europe and North America. I love to travel, read, dance and learn about everything. I’ve always been fascinated by architecture and how it differs culture by culture. One of my favorite spots to visit in Europe were cathedrals. I’ve visited 12 cathedrals so far and I want to visit more.
What perspective or understanding about your job or industry changed when you started your career?
Kate: When I started in the marketing industry, I didn’t know much about it as I previously was in education. “I’ve learned quite a bit and the most interesting understanding is how much storytelling plays a part in it “.
What is one thing you could not get through a day without?
Kate: Good Coffee!
What is one thing that stands out to you when you think of Kubik?
Kate: The level of creativity shared across our company. Its not just housed within design but I am able to experience it across all of the departments.
Why did you choose Kubik?
Kate: I had visited previous museum exhibits that Kubik had executed and was so inspired by their outcome. I had always wondered how they were created and what the process behind it was.
What is your role at Kubik, and how did you get started?
Kate: I joined Kubik as a Project Coordinator and was promoted to Project Manager in Trade shows.
