Mimaki, a developer, manufacturer and distributor of wide-format inkjet printers, plotters and printing software, was looking to build a customer gallery to showcase their working printers and the amazing products they can create. They wanted to show their capabilities on paper and forex material, as well as 3D and textile printing currently in use by their partners.
Having already made a colorful impact with their previous bold trade show booth at FESPA, Mimaki wanted their return to the Global Print Expo to be even bigger! They began by partnering with Dutch artist, Rik Lina for visual styling while the exhibit design team at kubik envisioned an immersive tunnel experience that would take guests on a journey of discovery.
kubik’s response to Mimaki’s challenge was a custom trade-show exhibit that would attract attention but remain open and inviting. The booth arched and wrapped around guests as they looked all around and upward to witness the symphony of print and colors.
Many of the samples were a direct showcase of work from existing Mimaki customers and partners, helping the event to educate, build community and promote future collaborations. The flexibility of the design will also allow for many more uses and iterations by simply updating print samples from one event to the next.
