What will the future of retail look like? What impact do consumers and larger retailers have on the environment? How can we simplify our day to day and spend more time living? Walmart decided to deliver a brand-new experience at Collision Conference to help tackle some of these issues, and to launch their new think-tank, Blue Labs. With a mission to incubate disruptive and radical innovation to transform how, why, and where people shop; and to create the retail experiences of tomorrow and better the lives of customers, Blue Labs was looking to find the best talent and partners, and Collision was the place to start.
The activation kicked off with an on-stage presentation and brand launch from Lee Jeyes, Head of Innovation at Walmart. On the event floor, the brand’s home base for face-to-face engagement, kubik brought their future challenges to life, literally spilling out of the “big box”. From visualizing environmental concerns to the rising cost of everything, guests were challenged to throw their hats in the ring an engage with Walmart and Blue Labs to discuss how they could be part of the solution. Various engagement options, from QR code scanning to retro ViewMaster presentations to live on-site strategy sessions with SMEs were all present in the 18sq.m. space.
